Wildfires

Higher temperatures and earlier springs are leading to an increase in wildfires.

In the U.S. and elsewhere, hot and dry weather is fueling wildfires, destroying property and endangering lives.

In 2006, in the Western U.S., more than 96,000 wildfires burned nearly ten million acres of land.
