Warming Threatens Food Supply For Sea
Life And Humans!
According to NASA satellite
data in December, 2006, the warming of the oceans is reducing
production of phytoplankton, a microscopic plant that marine animals
eat. This is just a sneak peek at how the ocean will respond to
further global warming in the next century. Scott Doney of the
Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute in Massachusettes said, "What's
worrisome is that small changes that happen in the bottom of the
food web can have dramatic changes to certain species at higher
spots on the food chain." For more information on this
